Ray O'Rourke, founder of the UK's largest privately held housebuilding firm, Laing O'Rourke, will become its chairman, after the group's current chairman, Sir John Parker, announced his resignation.
Sir John has served as chairman of the company for eight years and will step down at the end of the group's trading year on 31 March, but will continue to hold the ambassadorial role.
