Meet the team

Andy Brown, Head of Content, Construction and Engagement
+44 (0) 1892 786224
Andy.Brown@khl.com
Andy joined KHL in 2017 as editor of International Construction magazine. He co-launched KHL’s Construction technology brand and is also the company’s head of content. Andy says that he really enjoys reading and writing about the latest advances in machine technology, how construction is working towards being more sustainable and how governments around the world approach infrastructure. He’s finally conceded that his dreams of being a professional footballer are over and contents himself with running a few half marathons a year, as well as running after his two small children.

Mike Hayes, Editor, Construction Europe
+44 (0) 1892 786234
Mike.Hayes@khl.com
Mike has been part of the construction media for nine years and has led Construction Europe since 2019. With a background in property, sports and news journalism, he jokes that he’s been in publishing since before some of his colleagues were born – no one has the heart to tell him this is true. He has written articles on many of the world’s most ambitious infrastructure projects and is always on the lookout for engineering firsts. Passionate about sustainability, Mike is also a great believer in the potential for construction technology to reduce carbon emissions in the industry. When he’s not working, Mike tries to keep fit by speed walking – usually to the supermarket to buy pastries.

Catrin Jones, Deputy Editor, International Construction and Construction Europe
+44 (0) 79122 98133
Catrin.Jones@khl.com
Catrin joined KHL in 2021. One of the things she enjoys most about her role is connecting with industry professionals and cultivating meaningful relationships within the construction sector. As well as covering updates on world megaprojects and global construction news, Catrin is something of a social media guru, and plays a key role in looking after numerous KHL accounts. Beyond the world of construction, Catrin finds solace in yoga, considers some of her cooking to be (possibly) worthy of MasterChef, and loves to travel whenever she can.

Lucy Barnard, Senior Web Editor
Lucy.Barnard@khl.com
Lucy is currently working on the Construction and Rental Briefing pages as well as writing in-depth features across a range of construction titles. She has written about a wide range of topics including infrastructure, sustainability, technology, and the role of women in construction. Whilst at Durham University she was awarded college colours for her contribution to women’s football after winning the Intercollegiate Cup with the Van Mildert College Women’s Football Club.

Mitchell Keller, Deputy Editor, International Construction and Construction Europe
Mitchell.Keller@khl.com
Mitchell joined KHL in 2023 as deputy editor. With a background in newspaper journalism, he enjoys creating content that matters to his readers; whether that’s unique coverage of a construction project or analysis of global trends or anywhere in between. When not chasing a good story, Mitchell is most often found adjacent to or on top of a body of water. He enjoys disc golfing, rock ‘n roll music and spending time with his partner and their dog and two cats.

Neil Gerrard, Senior Editor, The Construction Briefing
Neil.Gerrard@khl.com
Neil Gerrard joined KHL Group at the start of 2023 as the launch editor for the free, daily Construction Briefing email (you can sign up here, incidentally). A former associate editor of Construction Management magazine and news editor of Contract Journal, he’s always keen to learn more about major projects and how they are built, new construction methods and better ways of working. He’s also a keen amateur cycling time triallist and fencer. He takes his lack of ability in fencing as definitive proof that the pen is mightier than the sword.
